Suggested Trip Length
Oman can be an expensive destination but in return it offers many wonderful attributes and fascinating things to explore for the interested traveller. Given its large size and diversity of its sights, the more time clients have the better. Here are our suggestions:
5 Nights
Stay in the capital Muscat, combined with a half day city tour and a half day boat tour along the rugged and stunning coastline; additionally choose either a day tour to Nizwa or to the Batinah fortresses. This will give you a taster of this wonderful country. There are some fantastic hotels, villas and apartments on offer and we have something to suit every budget.
7 Nights
While 7 nights are too short to see everything it is a very good length of time to combine the North of the country with a beach extension in a Muscat resort. Clients should consider a 3 night itinerary including Nizwa, Wahiba Sands and either the mountains, turtle reserve or perhaps a night camping on a beach. Afterwards return to Muscat for some relaxation and perhaps a city tour and boat trip depending on how active you feel.
10 Nights
We recommend combining the 7 night suggestion with a few nights either in Musandam, taking in a dhow cruise around the fjord land and a half day mountain tour; or alternatively in Salalah, exploring the East and West of the Dhofar region with perhaps one night camping in the Empty Quarter.
14 Nights
Join together the two options of the 10 night suggestion detailed above, combining the North and South of Oman as well as some leisure time in either Muscat or Salalah at the end if you wish. This is an ideal length of stay to see all the highlights of the country and if you can get away for this long it will be well worth your while.
21 Nights
Combining all the aspects and perhaps including a desert crossing, we recommend travelling from North to South by road giving you a fantastic insight into the different regions and how life changes in some of the more remote parts of Oman.
